In 2017, at 19 years old, I applied for my first Nigerian passport. Prior to that time, I had never traveled anywhere that required one. This is not for a lack of desire, but simply because the means weren't there.

When I applied for my passport, not much had changed except that I was determined to study abroad. My intention was robust that I worked tirelessly to achieve my goal. This involved convincing my parents that my travel and study abroad dreams were worth the investment. Around this time, the Nigerian naira exchanged for 465 naira to 1 pound, and it was a struggle to gather the funds. But I was undeterred.

My Nigerian passport combined with a UK student visa ultimately unlocked the door to my dreams of exploring the world. So, yes, your Nigerian passport can open doors for you to also explore the world.
