Morocco is calling you : How to apply for your Morocco Tourist Visa

In June 2025, I travelled to Morocco for the first time with my sister. It was her second time. We met Maryam and her mother, also Nigerian, and spent a beautiful day together. Morocco is a dream country to visit in Africa and I want you to experience all of its beauty. Let's start with how to apply for a Morocco tourist visa from the UK.

Rather oddly, I am a Nigerian who had never visited any other African country! Strange, I know. Not, even Ghana! You can probably relate and want to change your own travel story to include Africa. I can proudly say that I have visited two African countries and plan to visit more. Our continent is rich in culture, after all. I am going to guide you on how to apply for the Morocco tourist visa as a Nigerian living in the UK , with a valid UK residence permit.

THE ONLY DOCUMENTS YOU NEED

  • A digital passport photograph

  • Valid Nigerian passport

  • Back and front of your expired UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

  • UK eVisa

You do not need to submit your travel insurance, flight itinerary, hotel booking, personal statement or cover letter.

WHERE TO APPLY

I suggest visiting Acces Maroc website in order to apply for your Morocco eVisa if you are a Nigerian resident in the UK. For Morocco, it is not necessary to apply through an agent as the process is fairly simply and uncomplicated. You should feel confident to manage the process independently.

When you click on the link above, you will be directed to provide details of your nationality, country of residence, document (passport) type, purpose of trip and any other visas you hold. See the image above for the details I entered.

Once you complete your details and click on 'check', the website will redirect you to the next step.

Morocco eVisa

Based on my entry, I was eligible for the Morocco eVisa. If your response is the same as mine and the process has not changed, you will also be eligible to apply for the eVisa. Click on apply for eVisa, provide your personal details, submit scanned or pdf copies of your passport, expired BRP and eVisa. Finally, pay the application fee. When I applied, the visa fee on conversion was only £65.

Why should you submit your expired BRP?

Although the UK has switched to a more sustainable method for residence permits and replaced plastic BRP cards with eVisas, many countries still use and require BRPs. Morocco requires applicants to submit the front and back of their BRP cards. When I applied, I only submitted my eVisa and received an email the following day requesting my BRP. Fortunately, I still had access to my expired BRP and simply sent it with a note that the UK no longer issues BRP cards.

If you do not have a BRP card because you were only issued a UK eVisa, you may simply need to add a cover note explaining that you were never issued one and only have your eVisa.

I received my Morocco eVisa in one day!

You read that right! Once I responded to the email, I received my Morocco eVisa the following day. That's a new record for me with my earliest visa record time being 3 days, when I applied for my UK graduate visa.

If you have read to this point, thank you! You should feel empowered to apply for and secure your Morocco eVisa.
