Flight from London to Vienna (beyond the Instagram reel)
Always check-in online if you can!

Faridah the explorer is back again!😁 Just kidding. I wish the Ryanair airline check-in officer was kidding when she asked me to pay £55 to check in.
Let's go back to the beginning...
When I applied for my schengen visa, I submitted a Vienna return flight itinerary as required. The return flight cost me only £25! That was so inexpensive. Travelling within London and/or the UK can easily cost more than that. Hence, when I saw the price, I did not think twice before booking the flight.
On the day I flew to Vienna, I could not check in online, so I planned to check in at the airport. I arrived at the check in desk at 7am. My flight was at 8:30. However, I was told check in had closed at 6:30. Omo! (A Yorùbá expression of distraught, worry, etc), I begged the lady to check me in for free as I the Ryanair app said something different. They offered me the option to queue to speak to customer service, but that would have meant wasting even more time and potentially missing my flight.
I paid the additional £55 to check in and flew to Vienna with mixed feelings, but mostly a happy one. I was finally travelling outside of the UK for the first time since 2018!
The last time I missed check in, I had to rebook my flight for another day. YouTube OGs know the full story.
If you read to the end, you are the real MVP!
