Getting to Doha

The signs of a great trip often begin at the airport, and there’s hardly a better place to start than Hamad International Airport, named the best airport in the Middle East by Skytrax. It easily sets the tone for the luxury and hospitality you are soon to experience as a tourist in Qatar.

Although I live in London, England, I flew from Beirut Rafic Hariri airport as I had combined Qatar and Lebanon on one trip. This is also an effective way to visit more countries for less. This was the same for my travel partner who flew from Lagos, Nigeria to Beirut and from Beirut to Hamad International Airport.

Airport Transfer

I will always shout it from the rooftops that arranging your airport transfer in advance is a must when travelling to a new country. Whether you book it independently or through your hotel, don’t leave it to chance.

If you watched my China travel vlog, you will know this was a lesson I learned the hard way. I assumed I could just wing it and travel like a local. You can watch the video to see exactly what happened!

That said, for my travel to Qatar, I booked a private airport transfer through Radisson Blu Hotel Doha, and it was smooth from the moment I landed.

Budget tip: If you are traveling on a budget, check if your hotel offers free airport shuttle service. Radisson Blu Hotel Doha provides complimentary airport transfers every hour, which is perfect for saving money without sacrificing convenience and ease of getting from the airport to the hotel.
